How long have you had your channel for?
One year, as of March 20th 😁
What inspired you to start your channel?
I started listening to Scare Theatre videos, I was reassured when scary things were debunked. From there, I started listening to scary story narrations… and then I thought it’d be great if someone narrated my stories. Wait a second, what if *I* narrated my stories? And bam, a channel was born. I have always been a writer, but I never seemed to finish anything until I started writing horror.
What is your favorite part of being on YouTube?
The community is so supportive! I have so much fun and have made a lot of new friends. Whenever a different creator— a writer, narrator, artist— comments on my stuff, I feel like I just met a celebrity.
Do you have any funny stories related to videos you’ve made?
One night while I was recording a video, I was chatting with Nef (Nefarious TV) and complaining about my cat, Gypsy, because he CONSTANTLY interrupts while I record. I snapped a picture of Gypsy in my recording closet, and he comments “oh, I can see his eyes!”
Thing is, those were NOT his eyes and we both freaked out. A minute later, a DIFFERENT cat came out of the closet. I hadn’t noticed that the cat I was cat-sitting had gone in there.
What has been your favorite video to make?
Lily Madwhip part one! I didn’t write the story, which makes it an exception on my channel.
(Added after her interview: Part 2 is live, check it out here).
What’s the most challenging part of being a YouTuber in the genre you’ve chosen?
Being a woman in any genre is hard, but I’ve gotten some really creepy DMs on my social media from some shady men. One particularly bad incident ended in the man unsubbing me when I found out I wasn’t a teenage girl. He was disappointed and it was soooo creepy.
What inspiring words do you have for those that are trying to do what you do?
You only CAN’T do it if you DON’T do it.
Is there anyone you’d like to promote?
Nefarious TV. Not only is he a super cool guy and a great friend, his content is really good. He does analysis videos of creepy videos, ARGs and occasionally narrates.
Where can we find you on social media?
A huge thank you to Penny for answering these questions and sharing a bit of her life with us. She’s got a lot going on and could use all the support she can get. Give her a follow, subscribe to her channel, and send her some love!
